Banal reasons

You need to start looking for a problem small. Visually inspect the contacts that go to the battery. The terminals must be free of oxidation. If they are present, it is possible that the engine is difficult to start, both hot and cold. The reason is simple - the terminals do not fit tightly to the battery terminals. Banks

This is already a more serious reason. Banks are the same six holes that are in the battery. Each jar contains lead plates. The latter are placed in an acidic electrolyte. In the process of contact between the plates and the electrolyte, electricity accumulates, which is later used to start and operate the car. The voltage in each cell is approximately 2 volts. And if one of the cans doesn't work, the battery will only charge up to 10 volts.

These elements become unusable for two reasons. It:

  • Evaporation of electrolyte. How to determine this? When unscrewing the cap, you will notice a low fluid level. In a certain bank, it will be less than in others. But it also happens that liquid evaporates in several compartments at once.
  • Scattering of the plate. In such a situation, the electrolyte level may be normal. But the liquid itself is not transparent, but black (almost black).

And if in the first case, you can still try to solve the problem by adding distilled water, then when the plates are deformed, the only way out is to buy a new battery. Note that the battery capacity will not drop after adding distilled water. It is she who evaporates in the cans, not the acid. The latter is much heavier and remains on the plates.

Closing the plates

Improper use can cause this phenomenon. This happens if the battery often runs out of zero. There may also be freezing of the electrolyte. But this happens if the car often stands in frost of more than 30 degrees. In order to exclude freezing of the plates, it is recommended to keep the battery warm in severe frosts, that is, to bring it with you into the house.

The battery does not hold a charge: restoring the plates

Some people try to recover such a battery by long-term low-amperage charging. But that won't do anything. This battery is recovered as follows. First, the cans are washed with distilled water. The compartment is filled with it to the maximum. Then they mix (in this case, you can and even need to turn the battery upside down) and drain. If necessary, repeat the procedure again until the holes go pure water, without dirt and dark shade. In some cases, it is possible in this way to clean the plates from oxidized particles and return the life of the old battery. But if there is too much dirt, such plates may no longer take charge even after 10 wash cycles.

Desulfation

If the battery does not hold a charge, salt may have accumulated on the plates. They need to be removed. To do this, we purchase a special desulfatizing electrolyte additive in the store.

Also, the removal of salts can be done using a special charger. The desulfation procedure is carried out in several steps:

  • First, the purchased additive is dissolved in a fresh electrolyte (its density should be at least 1.28 grams per cubic centimeter). It takes a lot of time - 48 hours.
  • Next, electrolyte is poured into the cans. Check its density. This is done using a hydrometer. This parameter should be at least 1.28 grams.

  • After that, unscrew plastic plugs in banks and to the battery, a charger is connected. In order for the battery to hold its charge for a long time again, it is necessary to perform several charge-discharge cycles. On the memory, you need to set the minimum current. It should be no more than one tenth of the maximum. When the voltage on the battery reaches 13.8 volts, the charge current should be halved further. Next, we measure the density with a hydrometer. We leave the battery for two hours. Then we take measurements again. If the density has not dropped, then we were able to restore the dead battery.

But that is not all. We need to make an electrolyte adjustment. To do this, we bring it to a density of 1.28, and then add distilled water. Then the battery is discharged. A powerful lamp or resistor is connected to it and the current is limited to one ampere. You need to wait until the voltage drops to 10.2 volts. From the moment the load is connected, you need to turn on the timer. it important parameter during the restoration of the battery.

The discharge time must be multiplied by the discharge current. This gives us the capacity of the battery. If it is below nominal, you will have to repeat the charge-discharge cycle. And so on until the capacity matches the factory one.

Phones and tablets running on the Android operating system have long earned themselves the fame of "all-consuming" energy devices. How do I calibrate my Android battery?

There are several ways to set up energy saving. Some require root access, others don't. We will describe each method so that you can choose an acceptable one.

How do I know if my tablet has a battery problem?

Before you start to deal with a problem, you need to identify it and admit that it exists. After all, maybe the tablet works fine for you and the battery holds a charge well, and you are already trying to calibrate it.

1. We described the first sign above - if the device on Android for no reason or no reason starts to turn off before the battery is completely discharged. Method 1

First, you need to know the capacity of the test battery in milliampere-hours (mAh). You can find information on the Internet, in some review of your tablet model, or just look under the battery, most often the characteristics are written on it.

Ampere is a unit for measuring current strength, in mAh the capacity of a battery is measured. It means how many milliamperes the battery can give for one hour of time. If consumption increases, then the capacity indicator also drops.

The next step is to install the CurrentWidget: Battery Monitor program from the Play Market. This app will display the battery charge in milliamperes (mA). Now, by tracking the charge level, you need to charge the battery to the capacity standard provided by the manufacturer.

If it does not help, then try another modification of this method of battery calibration - do 5 full charge / discharge cycles of the phone so that when fully charged, the battery capacity reaches the required maximum in mAh. Method 2

The second method acts as a kind of the first, the only difference is that you do not need to install special programs, only work with charging.

  • To calibrate the battery, charge the battery to a full state so that the screen shows 100%, then unplug the charger and turn off the tablet (phone). Then connect the charging cable to the disconnected device and continue charging the battery until led indicator(LED) will not light up green indicating that the battery is fully charged.

There are several ways to calibrate with root access. If one of them did not work, then there is a high probability that the second will give results.

Method 1 - Battery Calibration
Install Battery Calibration software from Play Market. Then connect the charger and charge the battery to 100%. Then open the Battery Calibration application and look at the battery level value in the program, as most likely it will be different from what is shown on the display.
