Story from Artyom and Anastasia from Gomel:

It would seem, what kind of romantic story can happen when buying a kitchen? But with a good imagination and a desire to save the family budget, this is possible!

The history of our excellent cuisine began almost simultaneously with the birth of our strong friendly family. To test our feelings, my husband and I started renovations in new apartment immediately after the wedding. This may seem strange to many, but, as practice has confirmed, joint creative work really strengthens and tests the relationship between young couples. The budget for the renovation of the apartment was made up of money donated by the parents and guests for the wedding. That is, we were dealing with a limited, rather modest amount.

During my student years in Minsk, a premium kitchen set under bright name « Black kitchen". But the cost of this luxury was prohibitive - about 20 thousand BYN. Now we live in Gomel and were hoping for a more affordable option. However, the province, contrary to expectations, was not particularly pleased with the modest prices - they asked about 12 thousand BYN for a kitchen ensemble made of natural oak.

I didn't want to buy a kitchen made of plastic and pressed shavings. But the young family is already under the threat of organizing breakfasts, lunches and dinners on the windowsill or coffee table... And when our dreams began to melt like ice cream in a hot frying pan, my husband suggested interesting idea... Namely - to order cuisine in Ukraine, which has always been famous for the abundance of forests, low prices on wooden crafts and handy craftsmen. After a tedious enumeration of proposals, we settled on a master who offered an excellent option from oak - 5283 BYN ($ 2,700) with installation.

No sooner had we celebrated our small victory than new clouds were hanging over us. It turned out that the newly introduced customs duties can eat up all our benefits. And that's to put it mildly! At this time, the master was already finishing making kitchen set, which, alas, was abroad. And she, in turn, was already on a strong duty lock. Catch phrase Ostap Bender's "abroad will help us" quickly began to lose its seductive meaning.

This time, a saving and wonderful idea came to my mind. This weekend, pulling our parents into our adventure, we crossed the border twice in a rented minibus - we transported the components of the headset as separate parts. Needless to say, these unusual voyages have become a landmark historical milestone for our young family? Someone goes on a honeymoon to Egypt or the Canary Islands, and my husband and I go to Chernigov for the kitchen!

Technical equipment - hob oven and extractor hood - selected from catalogs and brought from Moscow by passing freight transport. We tried to make the appearance of the technique organically fit into the overall ensemble.

Now our beautiful kitchen pleases the eye with its aesthetic and practical perfection. Oak is a long-lasting tree, so we expect to celebrate at least a silver wedding in our kitchen! In any case, we are very pleased with our purchase, and the idea of transporting furniture unassembled may be useful to other young couples as well. Successful shopping and strong family happiness!

  • Finishing work - about 587 BYN (300 USD), it is difficult to calculate exactly, repairs were done throughout the apartment.

So, the door of an old dishwasher cabinet fell off one hinge and hung overhead as an inevitability of repair. It's time to update your old kitchen set or order a new one. And more and more often at family councils the timid sounds: "Listen, let her be white? .."

That this is an utter whim, new fashion or ancient knowledge Scandinavian Vikings about the harmony of the universe, now available to us too? Belarusians and Belarusians are trying to figure it out. After all, a new kitchen is a capital investment: it's not a new coat for a couple of seasons. And not new car, when either it is in the garage, or you are in it, and the color of the hood does not particularly strike the eye. Colour kitchen facades always with you, like Paris with Hemingway.

Thus, the pros. White kitchen:

Visually expands the space

White furniture- and even in combination with white walls - guarantees a break in the space-time continuum in a single kitchen. Seven square meters seem to be ten, five seem to be seven. A kitchen four meters long will not save anything, but for such tiny rooms, light furniture and walls are not just recommended, but mandatory.

Combines with anything

By opting for white kitchen furniture, you are freeing your hands from everything else. Indeed, in this case, other surfaces can be of any color. In general, anyone - even black, if you've always dreamed about it. But connoisseurs of perversions recommend natural wood - its combination with white plastic or MDF is considered a classic.

White kitchen in modern style will harmoniously complement any vintage sideboard - from antique carved to Soviet polished. White background ideal for a colorful grandmother's set, which never went to anything, as well as plates, magnets and other ashtrays brought from trips, not to mention art in the style of "let's paint the refrigerator in yellow"Any jerk would look appropriate.

Allows you to save

White facades and a pound of fugue of the same color can ennoble almost any kitchen apron- especially the Soviet one, laid out in 15 by 15 cm squares. If the tile is in good condition, lies flat and does not fall away, there is no need to change it. Also, furniture like kitchen sofa or dining table, which is tempted to update only because it is boring, will look completely different in the new interior.

Budget household appliances are ideal for glossy white facades. There is no need to build in anything or overpay for appliances made in the same style as the furniture.

But most importantly, there is no need for professional designer- it is generally difficult to screw up with white in the interior.

Does not get bored

As the background does not get bored, which over time you cease to notice. If there is a need to constantly change something in the room, you can re-hang the curtains and re-glue the wallpaper - and it will be a completely different kitchen.

The threat to an all-white kitchen without bright elements is that its monotony can be tiresome. Here it is worth recalling that 50 shades are not only for gray, but also for white. Convinced repainters of dwellings in white do not use the word "white" at all, specifying: creamy, pearl, milk, ivory. Recommended for use on different surfaces different shades.

Soothes

The main complaint about the interiors white: "Like in the hospital!" But people, at least admit to yourself: we all need to go to the hospital! Our brains and our eyes are so overwhelmed by street advertisements, shop windows, TV, the Internet, their own notes or children's lessons that contemplating a simple white surface for at least a couple of hours a day is a great way to relax.

Continues the traditions of ancestors

According to the ethnographic museum in Strochitsy, kitchen area in the Belarusian hut it was determined by an impressive size oven, which was tinted with lime once a year before Easter.

Inspires

Against a white background, any, even the most unpretentious, dinner looks like a Flemish still life. Cooking, baking, washing dishes and tidying up a white kitchen is not boring and even pleasant. I want to spend time here. In addition, nothing distracts in such a room, therefore, if you put the dining table to the window, in between meals you can work here with a computer, read or do handicrafts.

Infuriates mother-in-law

Like everything new, when the initiative comes from you. After all, a laconic white kitchen - complete opposite that yellow-brown, flowered, paradise where her baby doll grew and grew with cutlets. So all the strength is to fight the vestiges and prejudices! True, first you should make sure that the husband did not beg from his parents for the repairs. Because whoever pays is the one who calls the tune.

What is left against? White kitchen:

Requires care

"You don't take into account one thing," my friend said pathetically when I boasted to him of a fresh renovation. "The white kitchen needs to be washed!" "So any kitchen needs to be washed!" I replied. The friend fell silent thoughtfully. The blow hit the target. There are six rags in his bachelor kitchen: for oily dishes, for low-fat dishes, for a sink, for a stove, for a countertop and for a table - and God forbid you to confuse them. A year later, I found out that he had moved and ordered himself a white kitchen.

If you are lazy or have no time to clean kitchen furniture, it is better to actually refrain from glossy materials and too light shades. As, however, from too dark - they are even worse in this regard: every drop is visible. Dirt is guaranteed to be invisible only on a dirt-colored surface. On the other hand, in last years there are so many effective chemicals for the kitchen that regular cleaning takes less than five minutes once a week. Well-worn hostesses advise avoiding embossed facades: dust gets clogged into grooves, it is really difficult to clean it. A good tip - when building in the kitchen, provide for the protrusion of the countertop above the cabinets by 5-6 cm. Then all the splashes will fall on the floor. By the way, it is advisable to wash it every day.

May provoke leukophobia

Leukophobia - fear of white. If you feel uncomfortable in the capital's gallery "Ў" or in snowy winters, a white kitchen is definitely contraindicated for you. Health is more important.

The mother-in-law already has

This youthful pensioner with a toned booty hacked the Ikea delivery service and in this moment creates a "textile accent" in its snow-white kingdom, clinging to a juicy light green curtain on a chrome cornice. You urgently need to move on. Not a single Sweden. Let your fantasy soar without limits!

The story of Maxim, Olga and Ekaterina from Gomel:

- How does the repair begin? Everyone has a different way, We saw our dream - a table. Table! This is when the whole family can get together, no one is paving on the corner and beating their knees on the table leg - it's round and on one leg! We looked and left. It’s a dream, because it’s a dream that doesn’t come true.

We planned cosmetic renovation of the kitchen: re-glue the wallpaper and refresh the ceiling. But everything has changed. Hooray! There will be three of us!

What we have: "kopeck piece" in panel house Built in 1978, kitchen size 2.5 × 2.7 m, area - 6.75 m 2. A standard Soviet kitchen, a stove and sink along one wall, a table and stools on the other.

What did we want from the kitchen? Convenient workplace, good technique and a cozy dining area.

The kitchen furniture was chosen for a short time, out of curiosity we went to the GeosIdeal store, the consultant was nice and professional, and that decided everything. The kitchen project she proposed turned out to be the best. Despite the fact that the prices were not small, after looking for other options, we returned to the first store. Better relationship was not met anywhere, the project turned out to be the most interesting, and as a bonus, we were offered to beautifully hide the gas riser and the option of electrical wiring.

The set - "Limbo", the most budgetary option from the assortment of the company, the execution was only in the versions "wenge-tephra", "wenge" and "tephra". All fittings are Blum. Very comfortable.

It took a long time to choose the tile. As a result, porcelain stoneware with a size of 45 × 45 cm, made in Ukraine, was laid diagonally on the floor. The apron is a 7 × 7 cm ceramic tile made in the Baltic region.

Wallpaper (made in Germany) was bought earlier, at the stage of planning a "cosmetic" repair, but they fit in "like family."

The ceiling was refreshed with white matte "Snowball".

The lighting is the central chandelier and the lighting on the hood. We are planning to hang an LED strip around the perimeter of the kitchen set.

Mandatory requirements were the presence dishwasher s and TV. The requirements have been met. In addition to the Bosch dishwasher, a Siemens gas hob and electric oven, an Elite hood and a Samsung TV were installed.

The Blanco sink and faucet have been chosen light, in the color of the countertop. Looks harmonious.

The dining area is made up of a "dream table" and corner sofa... Oval folding table with dark top and light leg. Corner sofa - light. Everything is convenient and practical. Finally, they began to eat in the kitchen, and not carry plates around the apartment.

What is left in the plans: to install a railing and hang up kitchen utensils, so as not to litter the working area, be sure to replace the curtains.

All construction work was carried out by acquaintances, and this slightly reduced costs.

Construction work and materials cost about $ 1,500. A kitchen set cost 4 thousand dollars, household appliances - 1 thousand 500. total cost repairs - 7 thousand dollars.

Story Natalia from Minsk:

- Last year, I actively followed the My Kitchen project and even wanted to take part in the competition, but the birth of a child pushed the idea to the background. I was very happy when I saw that the competition was launched again. It turned out even better: we lived for another year in our kitchen and not just like that, but with a little "tester".

When it came to buying our own home, we definitely decided that it should be a new building. Once in concrete walls, my husband and I were even a little confused. His phrase "Well, where do we start?" we then remembered for a long time. Indeed: and where to start? Before that, we have not encountered any renovation in a new apartment.

We knew little about the renovation and were largely unaware. But in my head there was an understanding that the kitchen, bathroom and toilet should be made in such a way that at least 15 years you would not want to redo anything. And so that during these 15 years my head does not hurt about the broken tap, the creaking door of the facade in the kitchen, the tiles that cannot be washed ...

We were, of course, very lucky with the kitchen! We have it as much as 13.8 "squares". But - what bigger kitchen, the more you want to stuff everything there. We decided to start with the choice of furniture, so that later it would be easier to select finishing materials.

We ourselves did not dare to think over the layout of the furniture. We decided to trust the professionals. Our stereotype that good things cannot be cheap has proved to be true. Friends told about the salon with German furniture. They ordered furniture there themselves a couple of years ago. We, of course, at first thought that it would certainly be not only expensive, but very expensive there. You yourself understand German quality... But we were persuaded, and we nevertheless decided to look in, more out of curiosity.

And they immediately realized that they know a lot about furniture here. Both the interior and the reigning atmosphere in the cabin set up a pleasant mood. We did not immediately decide on the kitchen. We couldn't afford some options at all, some were acceptable, but not quite what we needed. However, they came to a consensus: outward appearance, and for the price.

We decided to make the kitchen so convenient for everyone to use. Today this kitchen is ideal for me. I'm so used to it and if I have to cook somewhere in another kitchen, I feel uncomfortable.

Now a little about the functional part. I advise everyone to do the top drawers with a folding door system. When I cook, I open both drawers and I have everything close at hand. There is no need to bend and lean away from the cabinet doors. Be sure to do the lighting under the upper cabinets, because with this system of opening the overhead light becomes less: the door closes the lamps.

The location turned out to be convenient for me oven and a microwave oven. Everything is cooked away from the cooking room. The built-in microwave is generally a fairy tale. You never need to clean up behind it, under it. By the way, it is not necessary to buy it by the time the kitchen is installed. We did just that, bought it a couple of months later and fixed it ourselves. There were no difficulties in the installation of our microwave oven.

Drawer under the oven in a small column. This is where I keep all the ovenware.

Another favorite in our kitchen, I think, is the crockery display case. Glass shelves showcases with lighting. With the lights off, you can create cozy atmosphere with their help.

The interior designers suggested many necessary details. In the showcase there are convenient drawers for storing all the small things: cake candles, skewers, a book with recipes ...

Also, I am very satisfied with the two lower cabinets with drawers. In one of them there is a hidden cassette for cutlery and dishes, in the second there is a large set of pots with food processor and different forms for baking and cooking. And very important point- boxes roll out to their full depth, and they are very deep. We used to live in a different apartment with a different kitchen. There, to get something from the back of the box, you had to try. The boxes can withstand a significant load, since one of them accommodated a whole set for 12 people with a soup tureen, as well as a tea set for 12 people. So the problem of storing the dishes presented for the wedding disappeared.

Cargo cabinets have become indispensable for me. We have two such lockers. One of them contains oils, sauces and more. In the other, everything you need for a washing machine and dishwasher. He is just in between.

They did not regret about the built-in refrigerator at all. Yes, it has a slightly smaller capacity than the usual one. But we would not have noticed this if we had not been warned. In addition, it does not clutter up the interior at all. If you are worried about magnets from travel, take a look at our range hood. Nice alternative, isn't it? By the way, the cooker hood is Polish Akpo. The analogs were too expensive. But, if possible, it is better to buy a quality one. Ours is noisy.

The built-in washing machine also helped us save the interior, only this time in the bathroom. The location of the device in the kitchen plays into our hands, because the loggia is in our kitchen. Linen does not need to be carried throughout the apartment. True, with the choice of a washing machine, they lost a little. It was necessary to fit into the budget and had to buy a good one, but not the best one. All built-in appliances are, of course, more expensive than stand-alone ones. For the money for which you buy a conventional built-in washing machine, you can buy a very cool regular one. In ours, I do not have enough functions, but it erases it regularly.

There is a lot of technology in the kitchen that makes life much easier. They bought everything in Minsk. There was no thought of bringing equipment from abroad. This, in our opinion, is not justified. And again ... Everything really good costs almost the same money as ours. Only with us with a guarantee.

We decided on furniture and appliances, this is the most important thing. Then everything was much easier. Porcelain stoneware and tiles were picked up under the facades of the kitchen. We have Atlas Concord porcelain stoneware on the floor. Bought at a discount in one of the salons on Bogdanovich Street. Then it came out at 23 euros per "square". But it was worth it. The surface is semi-polished. Dirt and stains are not visible at all.

Almost the entire wall was in tiles. Although it is matte, it does not get dirty and washes perfectly, it is still a smooth surface.

In view of the laconicism of the entire interior of our kitchen, it was necessary to correctly place accents and add some details. It was decided to lay out the wall opposite the kitchen with decorative plaster stone. They bought it in the same salon as the tiles on the "skinned". it decorative rock"Feudal" of the Belarusian manufacturer. Stacking for the money came out more than himself. But everything is worth it, it looks very beautiful. The wallpaper was bought somewhere at the construction market in Uruchye. Now, unfortunately, I don’t remember.

IKEA table. They paid about 769 BYN for it, they brought them friends from Moscow. Then we did not find a suitable option on our market. The chairs were purchased in the Grad shopping center, somewhere on the third floor. One chair - about 231 BYN. They decided to hang the ceiling lamps in this way. Different diameters at different levels. Lamps made in Poland.

Now about the little tester ... Our daughter is now a year and a half. And she's very curious. I will write what has passed the test of time and what has not.

The vaunted German quality turned out to be just that. The kitchen can withstand a dozen children. It is not so easy for a small person to open boxes. It takes skill. This does not mean that they are difficult to open. It's just that the baby needs to put in more effort. She does not always have the patience for this. In addition, the smooth closing of the drawer allows you to quickly remove small fingers, so as not to pinch, if suddenly they are there.

The lower drawers simply cannot be loosened or pulled out. I think, if desired, the child can even hide in it. There was a period when we moved all the jars from cargo to hard-to-reach places, but somehow it passed quickly. So cargo is more a plus than a minus.

The material of the base cabinets is very practical. It is very easy to wash it. By the way, this was one of the budget options. White upper fronts also do not need careful maintenance. The fingers are not visible on them. The induction hob saves you from scalding. It does not heat up, and it is not scary to leave the baby next to it while cooking.

But the table constantly has to be wiped, as the child always strives to hang on it and leave more prints. About pens on top cabinets a little sorry. I sometimes rest my forehead on the handle, as my height is above average. Actually, all of the minuses. German kitchens are made to their own standard, they are slightly higher than usual, namely the work surface. This is a huge plus for me. It is very convenient to cook at such a height, besides, the child, until he grows up to the moment when it will be possible to pull something from the tabletop, will already begin to understand that this cannot be done.

I would be glad if this information helps any of you. Good luck to all participants!

Final estimate:

  • German kitchen with worktop - 3120 BYN per running meter
  • Household appliances for the kitchen, sink and mixer - 12 586 BYN
  • Porcelain stoneware on the floor - 688 BYN
  • Tiles for skin - 495 BYN
  • Wallpaper - 108 BYN
  • Textiles for windows - 323 BYN
  • Table and chairs - 1442 BYN
  • Lighting - 538 BYN

". We publish all the stories about setting up a kitchen that our readers have sent us. After the received stories are released, the voting of TUT.BY users will start. They will select the winners who will receive prizes from our partners. In this issue - a kitchen with an orange mood.

Story Igor and Elena from Minsk:

- Before starting my story, I would like to thank the editors for the idea of a wonderful competition. My husband and I closely followed the previous season, paying attention to both a variety of ideas and feedback from those who already had experience using these ideas in life. And so we also decided to repair.

Our kitchen is 3.1 × 2.4 meters - a little over 7 sq.m. Very little. It is clear that with such initial conditions, there is not the slightest sense to arrange Versailles.

Among the main requirements that we set for the future kitchen were the following: functionality (proper placement household appliances, organization working area), keeping the large (130x90cm) dining table and chairs and refrigerator, which we purchased much earlier, and finally using materials that can be easily kept clean.

It should be noted that we began to do the repairs almost spontaneously and were somewhat limited in terms. To purchase finishing materials we could allocate only one day, or more precisely - 3-4 hours after work until the store closes.

We quickly decided on the color scheme. As I already wrote, there was a great desire to leave the dining group, which, in addition to a large table, includes orange chairs with backs. So one could immediately say with confidence that the facades of the kitchen set will also be orange. And so it happened.

Considering that the kitchen window faces east, which is why the kitchen sees the sun only in the early morning, we were quite happy with this situation. In this case, the floor and walls should be light (light gray, for example) and without any "flashy" patterns.

The most difficult thing was to choose a tile for the floor and an apron. I wanted it to be a kit. Some of the options we liked were in a single copy at the stand. Another part, upon closer examination, caused bleak pictures of the future, in which I, armed with brushes, cleaning agents and, probably, in a chemical protection suit, try to remove traces of grease from them.

Our friend, whose hands have made the repair, as if jokingly drew my attention to the stand with porcelain stoneware. Yes, I know: they usually put it on the floor. But I ran my hand over it and realized: this is what we need. And his dimensions are ideal - 60 × 60 cm - just the height of the apron, and the surface is smooth, and the color suits. The selection of the rest of the materials went much faster.

An important task was to correctly make the electrical wiring. When I say “competently,” I mean the need to provide for the correct number and location of sockets, since the extension cords dangling under their feet are already tired. Our friend, who was doing the repairs, suggested that we power the outlet for the refrigerator on a separate toggle switch in the switchboard. So now, when we leave the city, we can de-energize everything in the apartment, except for the refrigerator.

We contacted the firm. Together with the designer, we spent more than one hour to take into account all the nuances to the maximum. The only question was the location of the refrigerator. Considering that the dining group occupies virtually the entire wall, he could only sit near the window. We did not consider the option near the entrance at all, because along with narrow corridor and a ventilation niche, as well as the black color of the refrigerator itself, we would get a long tunnel.

It was also clear that the microwave oven, due to its size, should be located in one of the lower cabinets. Detailed description I will probably omit our creative searches.

I will confine myself only to the following remarks on the merits:

1) We left 20 cm between the stove and the refrigerator, having equipped a cargo cabinet in this space.

2) In order to save space, the width of the lower section along the short wall was made 50 cm instead of the standard 60 cm. It seems to be a trifle, but it is felt. And the access to the sink is much more convenient.

3) The facades are glossy: firstly, they visually expand the space, and secondly, they are easy to clean.

4) Color of fronts along long side, as planned, orange, but along the short one decided to make silver. Still, orange could clearly delineate the boundaries of the kitchen and visually reduce the space, so we decided not to focus on the short side.

In the storage cabinet there are gas lifts, in the corner cabinet the door opens according to the "accordion" principle. In the lower section, in the cabinet with drawers, there are ball guides, and under the microwave there is a metabox. The rest of the cabinets have regular hinges.

Sink made of artificial light gray stone and the same mixer with pull-out spout. When choosing a mixer, I, frankly, doubted the need for a pull-out spout, but in fact it turned out to be in great demand.

A pleasant bonus was the slider hood, which we got as a gift. As for the built-in hob and oven, comparing the prices of appliances, we came to the conclusion that it is economically much more profitable to take a short walk to a neighboring country. At the same time, unwind and change the scenery, which was done.

The ceiling is aligned, decorated ceiling plinth and painted. The walls are papered vinyl wallpaper one tone lighter than floor tiles.

When the kitchen was finally delivered and installed, all we had to do was put in the finishing touches. Work surface decided to highlight led strip... Another good friend of ours, who is fond of lighting design, was doing this. He proposed to make a switch that responds to the movement of the hand. This turned out to be very convenient, since the thought of turning on the backlight often arises when your hands are already wet or busy with something.

With the ceiling lamp it was a little more difficult, I had to go shopping a bit. As a result, a lamp was chosen that, in my opinion, fits perfectly in shape and color into our interior. The undoubted advantage of this lamp is its four horns, the direction of which can be changed.

I am not a supporter of curtains in the kitchen, at least not in my own, where every square centimeter and every ray is worth its weight in gold. Therefore, the option with roller blinds turned out to be the most optimal. On rare days, when the sun mercilessly blinds your eyes, it is enough to lower them, it will not get darker in the kitchen, just the light will scatter without causing discomfort.

The finishing touch is the textiles for the dining area. I know and understand that natural fabrics are impractical in everyday life, but rightly judging that all other surfaces are easy to clean, I decided to allow myself this little weakness. Thus, the table is covered with a gray linen tablecloth and orange linen napkins.

We have been using the kitchen for about a year now. And I understand that we got exactly what we wanted. It is comfortable, even in spite of its modest size. Everything is in its place. And I also noticed some positive metamorphoses. For example, my husband, who previously did not show any interest in cooking, now cooks with pleasure, and I even learned how to bake cakes!
